Announcements
| 07/08/05 | Security programs such as Norton Internet Security 2005 (NIS) may prevent a successful installation of SecuRemote (NGX (R60)). In one instance, after restart, the SecuRemote window to update the Emory Healthcare site did not appear. After NIS was uninstalled, and the PC restarted, the SecuRemote installation continued normally. SecuRemote also successfully operated thereafter. You may need to disable your security program before insalling SecuRemote. |

| 06/27/05 | SecuRemote NGX release 60 is now available for download. Those with build 53515 (R53, build 515) have been experiencing problems accessing the EHC intranet website (http://www.eushc.org) and the Web Password Reset tool. Upgrading to the new version will fix this issue. The previous version R56 may be still be downloaded. |
| 09/01/04 | As of August 12, Check Point has dropped support of SecuRemote on Windows ME, 98, and NT. The latest version of SecuRemote is available for download and is only supported on Windows XP Home/Professional (Initial release, SP1, SP2), Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows 2000 Professional/Server/Advanced Server (SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4), and Windows 2003 Server. |
| 03/31/04 | An e-mail announcement was sent out about the Emory Healthcare firewall which will be upgraded on April 14, 2004 at 7pm. You will need to update your site afterwards to connect. |
11/13/03 |
SecuRemote release 54 build 132 is now available for download. |
| 11/10/03 | An e-mail announcement was sent to those on the SecuRemote listserv about errors you may be receiving and how to correct them. Note that SecuRemote versions prior to NG, such as build 4199 and earlier, will no longer work. You will receive the error "Access denied - wrong user name or password." Correct this error by installing the latest version. |
| 05/06/03 | Some telnet sessions may stop responding at certain screens (such as when you perform a "patient lookup" or search) if the max transmission units (MTU) on your network interfaces are set too high. The default MTU setting is 1500. Since SecuRemote adds encryption overhead, Check Point has recommended that the MTU value be decreased to 1250 to solve the problem. Please see the section entitled "Adjusting MTU" on the Troubleshooting page for information on how to set your MTU. |
| 04/07/03 | Build 53515 has been released and is now available for download. This version fixes multiple connectivity issues including the inability to share files (as stated 03/05/03 below). Read the release notes. |
| 03/07/03 | We found a bug in the installation packages of builds 52032, 53328, and 53333 where stopping SecuRemote in the systray would prevent you from connecting to the EHc network's Internet-available websites such as Simon Paging, GroupWise WebAccess, and Web PowerChart. This has been corrected in the installation files available for download today and later. |
| 03/05/03 | Because of the large number of users who use Network Neighborhood to access network resources, we have made available a previous version that does not disable network browsing and we are no longer distributing build 53328. We will make available the next version once Check Point fixes the network browsing issue. |
| 03/05/03 | We have found that after installing SecuRemote (build 53328), the workstation cannot be accessed via Network Neighborhood. We called Check Point about it and they said it was a "known problem". Please see the Troubleshooting section for the fix. |
| 02/26/03 | The latest version of SecuRemote is now available for download. |
| 02/20/03 | At noon on Wednesday, February 26, the latest
version of SecuRemote will be available for download. Older versions of SecuRemote (build 4174 and newer) that are already set up and successfully accessing the Emory Healthcare network will continue to work. Therefore, if your SecuRemote connection is functioning, you do not need to move to this new version. Anyone needing assistance with SecuRemote on or after February 26 should download and install the latest version before contacting the Call Center at 404-778-HELP. |
| 01/23/03 | SecuRemote versions prior to Version 4.1 SP-5 3DES Build 4174 will no longer work. You may receive strange error messages (seemingly random) when you connect. Please download and install the newer version. |
| 01/23/03 | The FWZ encryption scheme is no longer supported. If you get the error "Communication with site _____ has failed", please ensure you are using the IKE encryption scheme as outlined at the bottom of these instructions. IKE uses different ports to communicate over. Make sure your firewall and routers are configured accordingly by reviewing ports used and NAT information. |
| 01/10/03 | After January 22nd, please update your SecuRemote configuration by following these instructions. |
| 01/10/03 | The Emory Healthcare firewall will be upgraded on January 22nd, 2003. SecuRemote users will not be able to connect during the evening on this date. |
| 01/06/03 | We have discovered that BellSouth DSL customers have experienced connectivity difficulties when using SecuRemote. We recommend obtaining a different Internet Service Provider such at Charter Communications, Comcast, or Earthlink. You can find a different service provider here or here. |
